Reflecting on Satsangam

As you may or may not have noticed, I haven’t posted a damn thing in near a week.  A big part of that has to do with the technical difficulties with Tumblr, and they way they have been “handling” my case, which is to say, they haven’t been doing a whole lot of anything for me.  Surely I’m helping them out though.

I digress.

The aggravated time off from it has given me some perspective on what I want this to be, as well as reflect on what it has become.  I’m all for giving glory to other people, and their respective work, but I feel that some of the focus has come off of what I truly intended this to be in the first place.  A home for my work.  A large reason why I haven’t posted as much of my own stuff is because I haven’t had a whole lot of inspiration, or time to reflect upon what inspiration I’ve had, and produce new things.  Most of what I’ve been putting up is back logged, archived photos.  I grow tired of that, and plan on changing that. Of late I’ve been writing a lot more, and I strive to be doing a lot more.

As a quick overview, I want to let you guys know that I will continue to put up my photography, but I’m going to focus on giving you guys new images, and focus less on digging through the proverbial crates for older things.  I also plan on giving my writing a bit more shine, but that will take time.  The daily tune is going to end, because I don’t want the headache of it, which is what it has become.  Society6 will more than likely stop as well, as I think I need to bring a bit more of the focus back on what I produce, and less on what “publish”.  This site is me, and reflective of who, and what I am.  Nothing more, and certainly nothing less.  Having said that, it will be embodying the “less is more” credo.

Hopefully you guys enjoy it all the same.

Problems

With continuing problems with both my Queue, and Drafts it seems that I am going to be having a little bit of a lighter week on here.  I may still toss up a Society6 POD, and perhaps some writing, but my own content will be lacking.

Blogging…

ain’t easy.

As some of you have noticed, I’ve been off from the blog for a bit. You might have also noticed from my last post that my girlfriend went in for surgery, and since then I haven’t blogged. For those concerned, she’s fine! Recovering, sore, in pain, but recovering none the less.

My reason for not blogging as much has come from having to be the boyfriend who looks after his hobbling lady. I haven’t had a ton of time to do much else, and our internet was down, so that’s that. In all honesty, the break was nice from this, but now I’m back and ready to give you guys the goods. I think I’ll drop a My Tops later on today, but first I have to wash dishes, make lunch, eat lunch, and relax a little.

Thoughts

Hey guys,

I’m on the move today and won’t be around until later in the day. My girlfriend is heading in for some major knee surgery and I’d like all of you readers to send some positive knee vibes her way.

Yesterday…

I said I thought it felt like a good day. It was. I got a new job, which I had the first day of today. I got to quit my old job, which I really wasn’t feelin’. I (my mom) found my iPod too!

I’m in a good place right now guys, and hopefully I’ll still have some blog time at the new job. Here’s to hopes.

Easter

No blogging since Thursday morning…this feels foreign.

Over the break I lost my keys,  and my iPod. Hung out with the family, extended family, church family and dear friends.

I got some photos here and there, and I will be posting them throughout the week, and maybe even a My Tops or two. For now, I’ve got to move some things from one storage to another.

One of Those Weeks

Dear Guys,

I’m sure you may have noticed that I haven’t been blogging all too often this week. Turns out, it’s jut one of those weeks.

I’m hoping to get another My Tops scrolled out for you, but I can’t promise anything at this point. I’ve got some big moves being made and right now, the blog has to take a minor backseat. Now, it’s not a backseat in the way that I’m not going to touch it for weeks, and then months and then it will die. I’m just not going to be able to post with regularity this week. You were afraid for a hot second weren’t you? Yeah ya were.

Direction

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind to say the least. I’ve obtained two new jobs, picked up some photo work, and have been really pushing myself to my limits. These new additions have left me with little time for blogging unfortunately. This will not do.

I created this blog with the intent of it lasting more than a few weeks. It did. It’s now a few months old and I have people who are giving me constantly positive feedback, and checking for me on the regular. I couldn’t be happier with it. With that being said, I can’t let up, I’ve just got to get a little more creative with my time.

So.

At my newest job I had recently been doing a little “light planning for the future” and realized that this might also be an optimal time to get some posts written. I mean written literally.

The Longest Two Days

Welcome to my first available minute to sit down, put my fingers to keys and relax with a little light reflecting. As I posted Tuesday morning, I’m going to be having a ridiculously busy week, and, as forecast-ed, I was correct. Here’s a run down for the past two days.

I’ve worked 17 hours between two different jobs.
I’ve rode my bike 10km
I’ve walked 10.5 km (all yesterday)
I’ve had one job interview
and very little sleep.

Today I’ve got family celebrations for both my birthday, which was on Monday, and my Grandfather’s birthday which is actually today. Oh yeah, my birthday was on Monday, and I had some excellent celebrations. Thanks to all you guys and gals that came out to whoop it up with me.

Tomorrow I’ve got a photo shoot with a very talented singer and friend of mine, and then 7 more hours of work at my job. Basketball on Saturday, work on Sunday…repeat…fack.

I’m going to do my best to keep the posts coming today as I got some done last night and some when I woke up this morning. For now though, enjoy your mornings/afternoons, and thanks for the read.

Oh yeah.

Rest in peace to the homie Nate Dogg. Couldn’t believe when I heard it. I was really holding out hope that we’d get another banger once he recovered from the strokes. Guess not.

Correct Me if I’m Wrong.

This is something I started writing last night that went horribly (maybe too strong a word) wrong.

Read for yourself.

Sometimes the mood just strikes. Sometimes, something isn’t quite right. Sometimes it’s both. The lighting is there. The feeling is there. Your mindset is 100% committed to the task at hand, whatever it may be, but there is that one element that leaves it just short. Short from being perfection, or as near as you can achieve.

Sometimes you can remedy this imperfection with a click of a button. Sometimes it will take more clicks than one. Sometimes the slight hindrance to your perfect world is a giant, unmovable boulder. Sometimes that’s metaphorical, sometimes it’s literal.

Wherever you fall…unchangeable or not, don’t grow stale with contempt. Make strides. Chip away.

I’m going for it, and here’s what happened:

“If I just star-studded typing whatever comfortably to my miniseries, this is what it looks like-minded. Makes no sensibility right? Ladies and Generation’s; my Autobiographical…which is superiority to be corruption, nope corruption, won’t let me get that working-class out-of-control. All-important me to say what I realization wanted to say”.

or

If I just started typing whatever comes to my mind, this is what it would like. Makes no sense right? Ladies and Gentlemen; my Auto-Correct…which is suppose to be correct, nope correct, won’t let me get that word out. Allow me to say what I really want to say.

Moral of this story, the real moral, not just some poetic mumbo jumbo moral. When you’re trying to set the mood for a writing session, turn off your fucking Auto-Correct. Hey it got itself right.

Weird Weekend

in a good way, sort of.

I started a new job. That’s the sort of. While dwindling finances is never fun, I really enjoyed having a ton of free time on my hands to go out and shoot, or stay in and write, or, whatever, you know? Back to reality I suppose. Anyone want to pay me to stay in and write? Anyone?

After all of the training for the job, I had a different kind of training awaiting me on Sunday. A Pokémon Tournament!

I know, I know. I’m pretty much a grown man, right? Well, after yesterday, my girlfriend may have a differing opinion on the matter. Here’s the thing, (this is where I give reasons for a grown man to play pokémon) I have a ten year old brother, and he loves him some Pokémon, so naturally, I want to bond with the little guy. Or, I’ve been playing since I was roughly his age and haven’t given it up. You decide.

Anyways. Sunday marked the release of the new Pokémon Black & White Versions, and for my birthday (which is coming up next week to the day) my brother pre-ordered me the opposite copy from which he got. Along with the release of the new game was a 12 person (children) round robin tournament.

It broke down as so: You get 1 1/2 hours to catch, and train as many Pokémon as you can. Once that time frame runs out, you must choose your three best, and battle in the tournament.
